Andrew Baumgartner joins the Fenton Lab

We are thrilled to introduce new team members! Andrew Baumgartner has recently joined the group in our third (!) cohort of graduate students.


Originally from Northfield, Minnesota, Andrew completed a bachelor's degree in chemistry at University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in fall of 2022. As an undergraduate student Andrew participated in research with Keith Beyer at UWL. He also participated in an REU at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign working with Daniel Shoemaker.

 

He moved to Penn State to begin his PhD in chemistry in Fall 2023, officially joining our group in December after a fall rotation.

 

Andrew is currently a Teaching Assistant for Organic Chemistry Lab and is a recent recipient of a first-year graduate student award from the chemistry department. Andrew will be working on the hybrids project.
